Formscanner is a free, open-source OMR (optical mark recognition) software for scanning and grading user-filled, multiple choice forms. Formscanner is easy to use, effective, and completely free of cost and advertisements. Users scan the forms and, in just a couple of steps, they have a spreadsheet with students' scores, answers to individual. ScanTool.net open source software ScanTool.net started as an open-source project several years ago, for use with the Windows OS. Apparently it’s quite usable on the Linux platform too – install it from the Ubuntu Software Center, or if you wish, by following this excellent Sam Hobbs tutorial.

Nmap ('Network Mapper') is a free and open source(license) utility fornetwork discovery and security auditing.
