Macos Default Mail App Gmail Chrome

To change the default email client from Apple Mail to the Google Web App (GWA) in Google Chrome, you need to do 2 things: 1) In Apple Mail, set Google Chrome as the default email reader: - open Apple Mail and select Preferences from the Mail menu - on the General tab, find Default email reader and click on the drop-down menu - click Select. Then I set up the mail as a generic mail ('Add Other Account' and not as Google account) in the 'internet accounts' setting of my Mac and used this newly generated one-off password specific for this use. Very far from ideal, but it worked for now. Making Gmail the default mail app in Google Chrome is actually pretty straightforward. When you open Gmail in Chrome, you should see a handler button located on the right side of the address bar.

Certain actions that you perform on your Mac will cause default apps to open. For example, clicking a document may open Pages. But what if you want Microsoft Word to open instead? You can also set your default web browser and email reader.

Here's how!

How to change the default Mac app for specific file types

  1. Right-click on a file that uses the file type you'd like to change the default for. For example, one with a .jpg extension (a photo).
  2. Click on Get Info in the pop-up.
  3. Click Open With if the section isn't already expanded.
  4. Click the dropdown and choose an app.

Now any time you open a file with that extension, the Finder will automatically open it with the app you've selected.

How to set your default web browser

  1. Launch System Preferences from the dock, Finder, or by clicking the Apple icon in the Menu bar.
  2. Click General at the top left of the window.
  3. Click the dropdown next to Default web browser.
  4. Click the web browser you'd like to use as the default.

Apr 26, 2018  Reinstalling Mac OS X through Recovery Mode is a tried and true troubleshooting approach for situations where the system software will not function as intended or won’t boot at all. If all else fails, you can try restoring the Mac with a backup made from Time Machine to a date prior to installing 10.13.4, assuming you made one anyway (one of the many reasons regular backups are so important!). Oct 01, 2015  I am updating my iMac 5k to the second public beta of El Capitan 10.11.1, after restarting when I completed the download, the 'installing software update' screen showed up. Progress bar moved a tiny bit at the first few seconds, but then stopped forever. Pre-Mojave, you may be able to fix a stuck update by going to the Mac App Store, finding the software you are downloading, and pressing Option/Alt. When you do so you should see the option to. Uninstalling software.
